The Energy Bulletin was an online publication providing facts-based perspective on –and analysis of– emerging energy issues, covering economics, geopolitics, petroleum geology and other subjects; it comprised The Energy Bulletin Daily, a curated daily news fed, and The Energy Bulletin Weekly, a curated weekly summary of news items.
The Energy Bulletin had it roots in The Association for the Study of Peak Oil & Gas USA (ASPO-USA). Starting in 2008, ASPO-USA published news and analysis to help Americans understand and adapt to the changing realities of oil and fossil fuels. These publications ultimately became the daily Peak Oil News and the weekly Peak Oil Review newsletters, under the direction of editors Tom Whipple and Steve Andrews and housed at peak-oil.org. In 2017 ASPO-USA ceased operations, and Post Carbon Institute took over support of the website and the newsletters with Whipple and Andrews. In 2020, the website was renamed energybulletin.org, the daily newsletter was renamed The Energy Bulletin Daily, and the weekly newsletter was renamed The Energy Bulletin Weekly.
The Energy Bulletin ceased publication in 2024 with the passing of Tom Whipple.
The website now houses the archives of the Daily and the Weekly, as well as archives of The Association for the Study of Peak Oil & Gas USA (ASPO-USA) and archives of The Petroleum Analysis Centre (including its journal The Oil Age). The website is managed by Post Carbon Institute.
